WSOP Live And Online Circuit Events To Bring Poker Players To Las Vegas

World Series Of Poker (WSOP) live and online events around the country are a great way to play poker from around the US while having a chance to play in the big tournament in Las Vegas.

WSOP Circuit events started late last year as shortly after the 2021 WSOP tournament in Las Vegas crowned a winner. This year WSOP will take place on the Vegas Strip at the soon-to-be-renamed Horseshoe Las Vegas (currently Bally’s).

2022 Live circuit events

The live WSOP Circuit events took a break last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. While the virus is still around, casinos and gamblers around the country are moving forward.

When the series was first announced in October, Senior Vice President and Executive Director of the WSOP Ty Stewart said “It’s been too long, so it’s great to see the Circuit hitting the road once again.”

It will be difficult to find a poker player that disagrees. The first batch of live WSOP Circuit events started in November at Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carlina. The events will continue through March in the following locations:

• Feb. 3-Feb. 14: Isle Casino Pompano Park in Florida
• Feb. 17-Feb. 28: Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina
• March 5-March 16: Bicycle Casino in California
• 17 March-March 28: Turning Stone Casino in New York
• March 23-April 4: Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and Casino in the Bahamas
• April 7-April 18: Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina
• April 21-May 2: Horseshoe Tunica in Mississippi

Victor Paredes won the most recent WSOP Circuit event at Thunder Valley Casino in Modesto, CA. He worked hard enduring a nearly nine-hour final table during the event.

Live circuit events remain important

Stewart commented how important the Circuit events are for WSOP saying:

“The WSOP-C is one of our most important initiatives, allowing regional players to experience big-time poker and providing grinders a platform to earn a living. We’re pumped up about the new ‘Tournament of Champions’ format where all our winders will come together for one event. Just win and you’re in!”

Any official gold ring winners from the live or online circuit will qualify for a trip to Las Vegas. Ring winners will participate in the new invitation-only “Tournament of Champions” event that will take place during the 2022 WSOP in Las Vegas.

In general, 2022 online or live bracelet winners will also be eligible to compete in the new signature event.

Online circuit events

The first online circuit event is underway and will end on January 30. These online poker events are available to players in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Nevada.

The current event has over $1 Million in guaranteed prizes. Highest in value are 12 Gold Rings. Winners of these rings are offered the chance to play in the “Tournament of Champions” in Las Vegas.

WSOP to take place at the new Horseshoe Las Vegas

Furthermore, last year Caesars announced it was moving the WSOP to Bally’s and Paris. A funny thing happened on the way to WSOP 2022.

Caesars decided to announce it is renaming Bally’s as Horseshoe Las Vegas. Technically, the 2022 WSOP will take place at a combination of Horseshoe and Paris.

It’s probably not a coincidence that the WSOP first took place at Binion’s Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas. That casino is now Binion’s. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a live poker room at the moment.

The casino will receive a facelift inside and out beginning this spring. While the hotel rooms won’t be touched, everything inside Horseshoe Las Vegas will look different when renovations are complete. Fortunately, renovations should be completed by the end of the year.

WSOP 2022 should be the first major event to take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas.
