WSOP Releases Full 2023 Schedule, Plans For Largest Main Event Ever

As promised, Caesars released the full World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2023 daily event schedule.

The operator teased some of the WSOP events in late-December, when it initially announced the poker tournament would take place from May 30 through July 18.

2023 marks the 54th running of WSOP. For the second consecutive year, WSOP will take place on the Vegas Strip at Paris and Horseshoe (formerly Bally’s).

This year WSOP will have more tables, a greater variety of games, and the most bracelet events ever in the history of the event. Ty Stewart, SVP & Executive Director of the WSOP said:

“With the momentum generated from the WSOP’s debut on the Las Vegas Strip last year, we expect a record-breaking WSOP and World Championship at Paris and Horseshoe Las Vegas in 2023.”

The main focus of breaking records for WSOP will be surrounding the Main Event.

Taking The WSOP Main Event To The Next Level

Stewart continued his statement, saying, “if the Main Event is on your bucket list, this is the year to get to Vegas.”

For reference, last year 8,662 players participated in the first WSOP Main Event on the Vegas Strip. This was the second most to participate in the Main Event.

Espen Jorstad from Norway won the Main Event and the $10 million first-place prize, as well as the WSOP championship bracelet.

Caesars has put together a new series of promotions to help the WSOP Main Event surpass the record number of entrants in 2006. “Main Event Mania” will feature five different promotions to increase the number of players in the most popular poker event of the year.

600 Main Event Seats Guaranteed from GGPoker

GGPoker is the world’s biggest poker room and is also WSOP’s exclusive satellite partner. The website will offer 500 guaranteed Main Event seats.

Additionally, the ClubGG.net subscription site will also have international qualifiers and another 100 seats for the Main Event.

Altogether, GGPoker will have 600 total seats for the Main Event or $6,000,000 in the prize pool. This represents an increase that more than doubles GGPoker’s official qualifiers from the 2022 series.

Main Event Mania at Casinos Worldwide

This will be WSOP’s first-ever Global Qualification Weekend. The promotion will take place on May 20 and 21 at live poker rooms on five continents around the world.

Poker rooms around the world will offer Guaranteed Seat satellite tournaments to send players to the 2023 Main Event. Each poker room will offer a “step” tournament at a $140 buy-in. This will culminate with a mega of $1,175 awarding a guaranteed seat and travel stipend to Las Vegas.

WSOP.COM’s 112-Seat Sprint

After the event is underway in Las Vegas, WSOP.com will have more ways for players to earn a seat in the Main Event. From June 25 to July 8, there will be a total of 112 Main Event seats guaranteed on WSOP Online.

The biggest event should be the $250,000-guarantee, 25-Seat Scramble. This will take place on Sunday, July 2.

There will also be a last-chance drawing for the final seat in the Main Event on Saturday, July 8.

WSOP.COM Online Bracelet Events

WSOP Online Bracelet events are back this year. The online bracelet events will take place every Sunday during the summer.

There will be three special “Double Up Bracelet Days” on June 4, June 25, and July 9. The WSOP Online schedule is highlighted by the $500 Summer Saver, a $3,200 High Roller, and the signature $1,000 NLHE Online Championship.

New WSOP Online events include the $300 Summer Kick-Off and a $5,300 High Roller Championship Event. The latter will have the final table played live in Las Vegas during WSOP Online’s Championship Week.

Main Event for Life

This is still TBD, and will only take place if the WSOP Main Event record is broken. If that happens, everyone that enters the Main Event will be placed into a drawing that awards a non-transferrable Main Event buy-in for the next 30 years.

The drawing will utilize each player’s Caesars Rewards number and would be held on Saturday, July 8.
