Nevada sports betting, NFL Raiders 2022 schedule

The 2022 Las Vegas Raiders schedule and odds offer insight into how many expect Nevada’s only professional football team to perform.

Shortly after the NFL Draft in Las Vegas in April, the league released the complete schedule for the 2022 regular season. The Raiders will start the season on the road against division rivals the Los Angeles Chargers.

According to BetMGM, the Raiders are +4 underdogs against the Chargers in the first game of the regular season. The over/under total on the game is currently 53.5. Don’t be surprised to see the lines change as the season gets closer.

The Raiders’ season ends in 2023 with a home game against another rival. The week 18 home game against the Kansas City Chiefs is in a flex position. It will be played either on Jan. 7 or 8 at a time to be announced.

2022 NFL Draft picks and a new head coach

The Raiders didn’t make much noise during the NFL Draft in Las Vegas. The team used its top two draft picks to acquire one of the best wide receivers in the league.

Former Packers All-Pro receiver Davante Adams will make his regular-season home debut with the Raiders during the second week of the season against the Arizona Cardinals.

Adams could see the field in Las Vegas for the first time in a week one preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings. The best starters don’t play much during early preseason games.

While Adams may not see the field during exhibition games, the Raiders’ new head coach will be in action before the regular season. Fans will get an idea about how the new head coach, Josh McDaniels, will call games starting in the preseason.

Fans expect the additions will help the Raiders improve on the 10-7 record and Wild Card loss from last season. However, BetMGM oddsmakers aren’t so sure.

The Nevada sports betting app has the Las Vegas season win total at 8.5 with -115 juice on the over. That’s a tad lower than last year’s record.

There’s a good reason for the lower expectation for the playoff team from Las Vegas. The AFC West is expected to be one of the most competitive in the league.

2022 Las Vegas Raiders regular season odds and schedule

According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Raiders have the third most difficult schedule for the upcoming NFL season. This isn’t much of a surprise as the team plays in what’s expected to be the most competitive division in the league.

Not surprisingly, AFC West teams account for two of the three most difficult schedules this year. According to this analysis, the Cheifs have the most challenging schedule of the season.

The Raiders have the longest odds of any team in the division to win the AFC West. The Raiders are currently 6-1 to win the conference according to Bet MGM.

Las Vegas is currently 20-1 to win the AFC and 35-1 to win the Super Bowl this season.

Odds for every 2022 Las Vegas Raiders game

Station Casinos is one of the few Nevada sportsbooks that already has Raiders lines for the entire season. Las Vegas is currently favored in eight games this season. One game is listed at pick ’em.

The 8.5 win total at both Station Casinos and BetMGM appears to stand up according to the lines below:

  • 9/11 at Chargers
  • 9/18 vs. Cardinals (Raiders -2)
  • 9/25 at Titans (Raiders +3)
  • 10/2 vs. Broncos (Raiders -1)
  • 10/10 at Chiefs (Raiders +6.5)
  • Week 6: BYE
  • 10/23 vs. Texans (Raiders -8)
  • 10/30 at Saints (Raiders +2)
  • 11/6 at Jaguars (Raiders -4)
  • 11/13 vs. Colts (Raiders -1.5)
  • 11/20 at Broncos (Raiders +4)
  • 11/27 at Seahawks (Raiders -3)
  • 12/4 vs. Chargers (Pick ‘em)
  • 12/8 at Rams (Raiders +6)
  • 12/18 vs. Patriots (Raiders -2)
  • 12/24 at Steelers (Raiders -1)
  • 1/1 vs. 49ers (Raiders +2)
  • 1/7 or 1/8 vs. Chiefs (Raiders +3)

Both sportsbooks have the Raiders’ season win total at 8.5 with juice on the over.

2022 Las Vegas Raiders regular season highlights

The Raiders will play at least three primetime games this season. A fourth primetime game is possible during week 18 against the Chiefs.

The first Raiders game at the Chiefs in week five will be on Monday Night Football. The week 14 game against the Los Angeles Rams will be on Thursday Night Football.

The Raiders only scheduled home primetime game will be against the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football in week 15 of the season.

Playing AFC West teams twice a year continues to provide plenty of highlights. The Raiders will see Chiefs and Chargers quarterbacks twice this year, Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert, respectively. This will be the first year new Broncos quarterback, Russell Wilson, plays the Silver and Black twice.

The Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Rams, San Fransisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans will also be a challenge for the Raiders this season.

By the time the Pittsburgh Steelers play the Raiders on Christmas Eve, the team could be starting rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. If nothing else, Pickett will be some new blood visiting Las Vegas.

This will be a challenging season that could provide some fun moments at Allegiant Stadium and on the road around the US.

One highlight of the regular season schedule is that the Raiders won’t be playing any games out of the country. This means no 6 am starts for fans of the Silver and Black.

At this time, only three of eight Raiders games will start in the morning. The games in the morning will be in Jacksonville, New Orleans and Nashville. All other games will begin at 1 pm PT or later.

2022 Las Vegas Raiders preseason odds and schedule

The Raiders are one of the lucky teams to have an extra preseason game this year. Las Vegas kicks off the NFL preseason against Jacksonville Jaguars in the Week Zero Hall of Fame Game in Canton, OH on Aug. 4.

BetMGM set the Raiders as -1.5 favorites for the first preseason game this year. The total is set at a minuscule 33.5.

Visiting Las Vegas for a Raiders game

Las Vegas is a major tourist destination with as many as 42 million people visiting annually before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many football fans are now planning their visits to Las Vegas around when their team is playing the Raiders. Tickets should be available on the secondary market for visiting fans. The Raiders had an “extraordinary” no-show rate of 14.3% last year.

Depending on the source and game, about 40% to 50% of the fans in attendance for Raiders games at Allegiant Stadium are rooting for the road team.

I did not experience this at my lone Raiders game last season against the Washington Football Team (now Commanders). The game wasn’t sold out and the fans in attendance cheered loudly for the home team despite the somewhat boring game.

Allegiant Stadium has quickly become one of the most popular in the NFL. According to Allegiant’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer Scott DeAngelo, “fans voted Allegiant Stadium the number one venue for Overall Gameday Satisfaction, citing the stadium’s cuisine, atmosphere, and technology as highlights of their visit.”

While the sponsor of the Raiders stadium should be rooting for the home team, Allegiant — an airline — is looking for ways to generate revenue from all of the visiting fans.

Allegiant Airlines is offering specially curated travel packages for fans from other cities to watch their team play in Las Vegas. This year, fans from the following cities will visit Las Vegas to cheer their team on against the Raiders:

  • Boston
  • Denver
  • Houston
  • Indianapolis
  • Los Angeles
  • Kansas City
  • Phoenix
  • San Fransisco

NFL teams have fans located in other cities but these are the hometowns of the teams playing in Las Vegas this year.

Visiting fans should prepare for higher than usual hotel room rates at properties closest to Allegiant Stadium. Hotel room prices at Mandalay Bay, Delano (inside Mandalay Bay), and Luxor tend to lead the way with higher than usual rates since they’re walking distance to the stadium.
