Although Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is still being built, it has already secured a casino and a separate sportsbook operator. Betfred will be in charge of the sportsbook operations, and Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment will handle the operations of the rest of the casino, encompassing the slot machines and table games.
The sportsbook will be incorporated into the Mohegan Sun Casino within Virgin Las Vegas. The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino’s structure is being utilized to construct the new 60,000-square-foot premium casino and resort.
New sportsbook operator in Nevada
Not only is Betfred a newcomer to Nevada, but it is also launching its first US sportsbooks. Betfred USA, a subsidiary of the European Betfred Group, established its first US office in Las Vegas in 2019.
Besides operating sportsbooks in Colorado, Iowa, and Pennsylvania, Betfred USA also operates in Las Vegas. However, this will be its initial venture in Nevada.

The choice to utilize Betfred for operating the sportsbook is somewhat unexpected. Mohegan Gaming, which currently runs casinos in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, has traditionally used Unibet as its sportsbook partner in these states.
CG Technology used to run the sportsbook in the Hard Rock Casino before it closed. They recently sold their assets to William Hill. Mohegan Gaming, in preparing to open their first casino in Nevada, had the option to choose an existing sportsbook operator in the state but opted for a fresh approach instead.
The departure of two operators, CG Technology and Caesars Entertainment sportsbooks, from Las Vegas will offer an additional choice to sports bettors.
The sportsbook branded as Betfred Sports inside the Mohegan Sun Casino in Las Vegas will feature:

Virgin Las Vegas has yet to disclose the location of the sportsbook within the redesigned casino, but further details are expected to be released soon.
Virgin Las Vegas casino taking shape
Sir Richard Branson declared in 2018 that Virgin Hotels was expanding to Las Vegas. The inaugural Virgin property in the city is a refurbished version of the previous Hard Rock Hotel and Casino located just off the Vegas Strip. Despite the slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, construction of the new property has persevered. Virgin Las Vegas is anticipated to be up and running before the year concludes.
Virgin Hotels Las Vegas announced their partnership with Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment to manage their casino last year. They have recently unveiled the logo for the Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
Joe Hasson, with his 40 years of industry experience most notably at Station Casinos, is set to become the general manager of Mohegan Sun Casino. The casino will feature its well-liked Momentum Rewards & Loyalty Program, allowing guests to earn and redeem rewards and discounts.
