This week, Vegas gamblers were blessed with good news.

CEO Derek Stevens revealed on June 17 that the Circa Resort & Casino located in downtown Las Vegas is set to officially open by Dec. 28. Furthermore, the first five floors of the casino, which includes the sportsbook, will be operational two months ahead of schedule.

Reservations are now being accepted at the hotel through circalasvegas.com. The first available date to lodge at Circa Resort & Casino, as anticipated, is Dec. 28. The newly established Circa Las Vegas will feature 777 rooms and suites across its 35 floors.

Circa is the first casino to be constructed from scratch in Vegas since 1980. It will also be the sole Las Vegas casino to exclusively accommodate guests who are 21 or older.

This property, spanning 1.2 million-square-feet, is set to be the highest structure north of the Vegas Strip. It will feature five restaurants, five bars, six pools, a rooftop deck amphitheater, and a three-tier sportsbook.

Circa will open in phases

Casinos in Las Vegas have been gradually reopening in phases since nonessential businesses were closed in March. The Circa will also begin operations in a phased manner. The casino section is set to open in October, with the hotel part to follow before the year ends.

“Life can be unpredictable, as the entire world has witnessed in 2020. But, with the inventive solutions provided by our partners, McCarthy Building Companies Inc. and Tré Builders, we’re able to progress at a faster pace and create an opening that Las Vegas has never seen before,” stated Stevens. “We’re eager to see what the future brings and provide both locals and visitors with something to celebrate.”

Circa will open the following sections of the property on Wednesday, Oct. 28:

  • Bars
  • Casino
  • Garage for parking
  • Pool
  • Restaurants
  • Sportsbook

Circa Sportsbook

Circa is constructing the biggest sportsbook in the world. This three-tiered sportsbook will be equipped with a high-definition screen boasting 78 million pixels, visible from every corner of its two-floor casino.

The sportsbook can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. It will feature 350 stadium-style seats as well as private boxes for group gatherings. Reservations for seats can be made here.

Additionally, a broadcast studio for VSiN (Vegas Sports and Information Network) will be housed on a lower level. It is worth mentioning that Stevens holds a 10% ownership stake in VSiN.

The sportsbook will feature two bars, located on separate levels, and will house over 70 gaming machines.

Two-story casino

Circa is set to feature a two-story casino equipped with 1,350 slot machines and 55 table games.

The property will feature 138 bar-top gaming machines and 18 electronic table games. Additionally, 55 machines will be available for high-limit slot players to choose from.

Circa, a casino owned by Stevens, is anticipated to provide 3:2 blackjack, 10x odds craps, and double zero roulette, similar to his other casinos. Visitors can also join the Club One players’ club, which is accessible at The D and Golden Gate casinos.

Pool amphitheater

The rooftop deck of Circa, sitting above the Fremont Street Experience, will boast six pools. These pools will have temperature control and the deck will also feature two spas and outdoor gaming facilities. The deck will remain open all year round, for 365 days.

The pool amphitheater, set to spotlight a 14 million-pixel video screen, is destined to evolve into an open-air hotspot for sports viewing, events, and parties. The pool deck promises to be an excellent location to enjoy March Madness from 2021 onwards.

Background on Circa

Developers and brothers Derek and Greg Stevens are building the Circa Resort & Casino.

The Stevens brothers’ forthcoming property, Circa, will differ from their other downtown Las Vegas casinos. Circa will blend the glamour of vintage Vegas with contemporary facilities and advanced technology. Apart from Circa, the Stevens brothers are also the owners of The D Las Vegas and Golden Gate casinos, with the latter situated across Fremont Street from the currently-being-built Circa.

Circa aims to amalgamate the top features of The D and Golden Gate, while incorporating all the amenities anticipated from a 2020-built casino.
