Downtown Las Vegas Esports Arena To Open Inside The Neonopolis This Weekend

On the 3rd of March, Millennial Esports will reveal its cutting-edge 15,000-square-foot esports arena in Neonopolis.

The arena is equipped with 200 stadium-style seats and an additional stage that can host 300 more guests, ready for a three-day Halo tournament.

The arena, which is open 24/7, is situated at the Neonopolis Mall in downtown Las Vegas, a short distance from the Fremont Street Experience.

Besides featuring an arena and live events with a specialized ESPN-Gameday-style commentary booth, the property will also accommodate viewing parties for significant esports events happening worldwide.

The facility also provides broadcasting studios for esports streamers to utilize when they are visiting the town.

The CEO of Millennial Esports, Alex Igelman, made a comment:

Upcoming events at the esports arena

The Halo tournament is a significant occasion in the esports realm, serving as a gateway to the Halo World Championships. It is the final qualifying event before the World Championships. The competition boasts a prize pool of $50,000, with the top six teams gaining qualification for the Halo World Championship Finals, which has a grand prize of $1 million.

After the Halo tournament, the arena has arranged for a Madden 17 NFL tournament, approved by EA Sports, to be held on March 25 and 26.

Igelman informed the Las Vegas Sun that he anticipates the facility’s schedule to become even more filled as time passes.

“Igelman mentioned to the Las Vegas Sun that we are in the process of developing a comprehensive content calendar. We are also having discussions with several publishers who have shown interest in utilizing our technologies after hearing about our operations,” he added.

Throughout the year, we should host multiple events, including those we organize ourselves and invitationals.

Las Vegas’s fascination with esports continues to grow

The new arena at Neonopolis is merely a single component of a much larger esports project being assembled in Las Vegas.

Last year, the Downtown Grand Casino elevated esports in Las Vegas.

Seth Schorr, who is the CEO of Downtown Grand and also a board member of Millenial Esports and involved in the esports arena, launched an esports lounge within the casino. This lounge hosts local esports tournaments and contests.

Last year, Downtown Grand accepted the first legal esports wager in Nevada.

MGM opened a special lounge, LEVEL UP, aimed at attracting millennials and esports enthusiasts.

The lounge hasn’t become popular just yet, but MGM hasn’t given up on it, recently introducing Frogger: Get Hoppin’, the first skill-based slot machine in the state, into its lineup.
