Station Casinos Trying To Cut Down On All Those Cards In Your Wallet

[toc]Acquiring customer loyalty rewards at Station Casinos properties is set to become significantly easier. The Nevada-based casino firm is currently initiating the launch of Cardless Connect, a novel technology developed by IGT.

What is Cardless Connect?

The objective of the Cardless Connect program is to make your physical player rewards card obsolete. Rather than having to carry your Station Boarding Pass card everywhere, your phone can monitor your play. If you’re prone to forgetting or don’t like carrying a wallet full of cards, this program could be extremely advantageous for you.

Hence, it is logical that a brand, which depends on local customers with loyalty cards from almost twelve different casino companies, would be the first to trial the product. Station Casinos, the owner of 19 various gaming properties in the Las Vegas area, is such a brand.

Cardless Connect operates via the Stations mobile app which can be downloaded from the App Store for iPhone users and the Google Play Store for Android users. Players can go cardless by simply entering their Boarding Pass details and following a few steps to log in.

In an official press release, Staci Alonso, the EVP and Chief Marketing & Innovation Officer at Station Casinos, shared her thoughts on the launch.

“We are dedicated to constantly introducing new advantages to our My Rewards Boarding Pass, ensuring both value and convenience for our current and future members. The incorporation of IGT’s Cardless Connect technology significantly enhances the STN mobile app. This feature allows guests to digitally use their phones to card in at their preferred slot game, providing a seamless digital experience.”

At present, only Barley’s Casino and Brewing Company in Henderson has Cardless Connect. The aim is to roll out this feature to all properties after the pilot program ends.

How to sign up for Cardless Connect

Enabling Cardless Connect is slightly more complex than simply turning something on and off.

According to the Station Casinos blog, there are a few necessary requirements.

  • A smartphone equipped with the most recent version of the STN app
  • Capabilities of Bluetooth are enabled.
  • An account for a Boarding Pass
  • Connect to the Guest WiFi of the Station Casinos property you are currently on.

After checking off all those items, there are still a few more steps to complete before you’re ready to proceed.

To start with, launch the app and choose the casino you’ll be playing at for this session. Input your username and password to log in. Following that, a blue icon labeled “Connecting” will pop up.

Once the icon appears, align your phone screen with the Boarding Pass card icon on the machine you’re playing. When the two devices synchronize, a green “Connected” icon will appear on your phone. Remember to disconnect from the machine after you finish playing.

The trial at Barley’s is expected to help resolve any issues. If successful and adopted by other businesses, it could lighten local wallets, not due to a shortage of money, but by reducing the countless membership cards from various loyalty programs.
